The Cat Clinic Hobart was founded by Dr Moira van Dorsselaer in 2013.
Our clinic is a Gold Accredited clinic under the internationally recognised “Cat Friendly Clinic’ Scheme. It has been specifically designed with only cats in mind, from our consultation rooms, our treatment and hospital areas, our reception and our boarding cages. Our clinic is comfortable, clean and quiet. Just the way cats like it.
Our staff understand the special needs of cats and are highly skilled at handling them to minimise their stress when coming to the vets.
Dr Moira van Dorsselaer, pictured here with her own cat Bokhi, graduated from the University of Queensland in 1998.
She spent the first 12 years as a small animal veterinarian seeing both cats and dogs, however since 2013 Dr Moira has dedicated her veterinary career to just seeing cats. If you ask her now she will tell you she has her ‘dream job’.
Dr Gabby, pictured here with her beautiful boy Monty (the most spoilt cat in Tasmania), graduated from the University of Queensland in 2001.
Gabby has a particular interest in behavioural issues relating to cats and has a published article in the Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery (the most acclaimed feline veterinary journal) relating to The Environmental needs of Australian Cats.
